Use the Site Map or select a glyph from the list above. Add an entry to your Study List from one of the glyph explanation pages to get started. You may then select different group levels from this page and add glyphs in any order you choose. Please login to use the Add All Suggested Glyphs function.

After you have registered, both a Study List and a Glyphs Learned List will be maintained for you personally (and these explanations will no longer appear). The listing of recommended glyphs is limited to 24 entries displayed at any one time. It generally helps to learn the simple glyphs before attempting to understand the more complex glyphs, since the simple glyphs are often elements of more complex glyphs. Note that the more complex glyphs with many strokes have never yet been used as elements within simple glyphs having fewer strokes.

Your Study List contains no glyphs yet.

If you are just browsing the site as a guest, note that the most basic and simplest elements are used within a very large number of glyphs, making the Used-In list somewhat difficult to navigate. We suggest browsing a few of the more complex glyphs in order to gain a better understanding of the relationship between glyphs and their internal elements.

 Help?
  • Click directly on a glyph to go to its explanation page.
  • Click beside an entry (but not directly on a glyph) to toggle the display of hidden text while testing yourself.
  • MouseOver of a glyph entry will also display meanings and pronunciations.
  • The Move Button transfers ticked entries to/from a registered member's Learned List.
  • The Delete Button removes ticked entries, but these glyphs will be included in the Add Next group. Move the entry to your Learned List if you do not want it to appear in your Study List.
  • In order to use the Learned List, you will need to register as a site member.
  • If unregistered, your Study List will be deleted upon exit.
  • If a registered member, your lists and preferences are saved, and will reload after you log on.
