Blue and green were said to be the same color for thousands of years in Asia. A 'green flower' is a euphemism for an as-yet untried concubine. Many opened orchid flowers are stunningly similar to the shapes of female genitalia, specifically the vagina. ORCHIDS are by far the flowering plant with the most number of species and diversity on the planet. Both the shape of the opened flowers and fine scents of orchids that are likened to some resemblance with human genitalia, the opened flowers as females, the unopened blooms and roots as males. The English word 'orchid' actually is the Greek word meaning 'testicles' and is a reference to the as yet unopened roundish blooms that hang down from a long green stem on both sides at staggered intervals.

The only exit leads to the anthers that deposit pollen on the visitor. In some extremely specialized orchids, such as the Eurasian genus Ophrys, the labellum is adapted to have a colour, shape and odour which attracts male insects via mimicry of a receptive female. Pollination happens as the insect attempts to mate with flowers. …After pollination, the sepals and petals fade and wilt, but they usually remain attached to the ovary.」
