釣りは通常、寛ぐできる行為である、あるいは一般的にそう考えられている、あるいはそう思われている。そのため、「寛げっている魚」は、頭頂部から突き出た骨状の「棒」と、口のすぐ前にぶら下がった幼虫に似た肉質の付属物で他の魚を「釣る」または釣りをするアンコウを連想させる。そして、ただ寛げって、餌を探しに来る稚魚を待つ。アンコウは、食べるために巣穴から出る必要はありません。構成要素の文字通りの意味は、「粘着性の液体の付いた棒を持って洞窟で釣りをする」です。もう少し粗野なのは、魚の頭のこの骨の棒の先端がアーチ型になって滴っているように見えることが、「濡れて滑りやすい肉をブジー（直腸や尿道などの体の通路に挿入して、組織を拡張したり、薬剤を導入したりするための、細長い半柔軟性の円筒形の器具）で広げながら粘着性の液体を噴出させる」ことに関連しているという事実です（隶）。

Fishing is normally a relaxing endeavor, or so it is generally thought, or is supposed to be, so that a「fish relaxing」suggests an ANGLERFISH that「angles」or fishes for other fish with a bony「pole」protruding from the top of its head and a fleshy appendage attached resembling larva, hanging just in front of its mouth. Then, it simply relaxes and waits for a fish fry to come in search of food. The anglerfish need not leave its burrow in order to eat: literal meaning of the elements:「fishing in cave holding pole with sticky fluid.」Somewhat more crass is the fact that the arched shape and dribbling appearance at the tip of this bony pole on a fish head relates to 隶 as「spurting sticky fluids with bougie reaming of wet slippery meat.」

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of bored old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is! Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? And now, there is a cover-up. No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else. This site describes glyph meanings, not people. These glyphs however, describe many and various things, including people, long before there were any notions of becoming politically incorrect.
