「Loose foot-binding cloth」with「adjust balance, internal pressure, and positioning, 」to mean DESIST for a brief time, a condition that will QUELL activity until proper alignment, pressure and positioning are achieved, the EXPECTATION SOMETHING WILL TAKE PLACE and continue (use of the foot by a client, rebinding afterward, and so on).
「Loose foot-binding cloth」with a「soldier in battle」suggests that during the fray and sacking of the enemy's assets, a concubine of the enemy lord was discovered and subsequently there was the expectation that something took place, will take place, or was in some condition, to wit: she was ravished, or soon will be as the soldiers DESIST, CEASE battling or sacking other loot for a brief respite.
Note that use of this glyph as an element in other glyphs meaning 'to bait, baiting, used as bait' (㢽), and 'young fawn, youth that is easy pickings' underscore the meaning of a well-trained female youth with cloths and clothes removed attracting the attention of soldiers as the bait in an ambush by the enemy, or, from other concubines.

Always keep in mind that these glyphs most likely were originally designed by groups of clever old men as vulgar riddles for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that), representing Chinese society many thousands of years ago, but intended NOT as a written or spoken language when created. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system! Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is, and often with multiple correct answers to each riddle, the same as is true today. Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? But, have there been necessary rewrites and altered explanations of the original elemental meanings over the centuries?

No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else. This site describes glyph meanings, not people. These glyphs however, describe many and various things, including people, long before there were any notions of becoming politically incorrect.
