MELON is a Chinese euphemism for a female openly displaying her vagina and anus while in the lordosis position, as it somewhat resembles a split-open melon, to some folks perhaps, or as a juicy cavity with many seeds packed inside. The「wrapping」part comes a little later after someone has noticed such a display.「Muck-filled terrace」with「hand and meat」may also indicate wrapping a hand and fingers internally around both sides of a perineum as another manner of splitting the melon: see 阜 as the original form of the left element, and 兩. A WRAP AROUND is also depicted in Chinese erotic literature as the process of wrapping one's hand(s) around a partner while penetrating him or her from behind anally or vaginally as the case may be, reaching around and diddling with his/her frontal genitalia…contrary to popular belief, not exclusively within the domain of homosexual actions for that matter, since normally a female openly displaying her vagina and anus while in the lordosis position and the Chinese generally penetrated from behind the rear.

Always keep in mind that these glyphs most likely were originally designed by groups of clever old men as vulgar riddles for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that), representing Chinese society many thousands of years ago, but intended NOT as a written or spoken language when created. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system! Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is, and often with multiple correct answers to each riddle, the same as is true today. Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? But, have there been necessary rewrites and altered explanations of the original elemental meanings over the centuries?
