A Chinese concubine without feet could not perform vital aspects of her sole purpose for living, which also will tend to decrease ambition. SICK may relate to those gangrenous feet requiring amputation.
　「Stupidly copulating alone with one's snake, worm」also indicates a LACK OF AMBITION, being idle. Doing so often may result in a COPPERHEAD condition, with the appearance of a festering appendage spewing venom. Despite the given meanings, copperheads are relatively small snakes and unless some other body part is placed on or near the ground to harass the animal, the most likely scenario is that the snake bites a foot after being stepped upon. Copperhead bites tend to fester, often leading to foot amputation in the old days. After being bitten by a copperhead, the bitee often LACKS AMBITION due to the intense pain and infection that lasts for days (bitten dogs often stop eating and simply lay down all day and night, for example).
