SWINE, pig, or hog, by any name all behave alike. Elements of「meat」with「homosexual men.」Apparently swine do acquire 'bad habits' (per pig ranchers and farmers) and require supervision of mating to overcome or prevent the development of 'abnormal behavior' (for pigs, say the ranchers and farmers). Often when young boars are 'run together' they develop the habit of 'serving into the rectum' of another animal.
When boars continue these habits, farmers say that they should be culled (or for human beings in ancient China, perhaps it was time to leave one's small hometown village and move to the big city, as other glyphs suggest). Male swine that may have been isolated from female swine will require a period of adjustment and social contact with females prior to being 'worked' (stud services) due to an「acquired affinity for other boars, and for rectums」of other swine, say the ranchers and farmers.
Note that neither homosexuality, nor swine for that matter, were considered abnormal in China, but that mixing homosexual behavior with swine was likely a crime of some sort…see the「crime」glyph for details…but tupping a ewe's vagina was recommendable and praiseworthy behavior for any manly man, as was anal sex with a human female, the hallmark of an「accommodating woman.」Moreover, anal sex with that ewe was only considered an「error」due to arriving at a nearby but different orifice…clearly, anal behavior was (is?) not restricted to homosexuals, but does seems to be one distinguishing quality or trait.

Always keep in mind that these glyphs most likely were originally designed by groups of clever old men as vulgar riddles for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that), representing Chinese society many thousands of years ago, but intended NOT as a written or spoken language when created. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system! Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is, and often with multiple correct answers to each riddle, the same as is true today. Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? But, have there been necessary rewrites and altered explanations of the original elemental meanings over the centuries?

No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else. This site describes glyph meanings, not people. These glyphs however, describe many and various things, including people, long before there were any notions of becoming politically incorrect. The question to be answered is, should these glyphs continue being used, by anyone, anywhere, for expressing language? (More...)
