「Pavilion female」suggests some sort of public display in a temporary structure, such as a sideshow tent, that attracted males…likely part of an advertising campaign of a local shaman cave o' wonder proprietress to attract brothel patrons: same sort of displays are still commonly used in red-light districts today, such as placing an erotic dancer behind a thin veil or curtain in a lighted window box facing a street crowded with tourists.
