Some have suggested the meaning is to trace the outline and texture of an object by rubbing upon a cloth used to cover the item temporarily, such as when making a copy of a stone inscription, yet「talented hands with a set of pulsating and throbbing dis-integrated feet」is more suggestive of using hands on cloth while binding dis-integrated feet, revealing the internal outline of remaining bones and pulpy flesh, or, rubbing painful feet of course. Nonetheless, rubbing slippery feet over another hard, stiff surface will also MAKE A RUBBING,「talented hands with pulsating and throbbing changing state of spread legs with dis-integrated feet」that will cause both surfaces to feel the contours of the other flesh making contact.

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of bored old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles?
