Bamboo shoots are covered by many layers of tough sheath that must be pulled apart to reach the soft central portion used as food after being sufficiently leached. Sprouts or shoots from the roots of mature plants can be eaten after the sap has been properly leached to remove the potential toxins (taking a gamble)…bamboo sap mixed with hydrochloric acid of the stomach forms cyanide, a truly painful and troubling way to go before spending a long time on one's hands and knees crawling to the toilet.
「Bending over with many stiff poles and enclosed dripping shaft」is taking a gamble for sure. Elements describe a flaccid sick penis encased in a bamboo basket and poultice, a RISK and GAMBLE for anyone in every sense, STUFF SHOOTING FROM OUT OF BAMBOO.
Reference to dice (taking a gamble, kneeling in lordosis posture while in a crapshoot, worried and troubled) is actually a form of religious divination. A lottery, drawing straws, or other similar procedures that use statistical chance to make a determination, as a manifestation of the will of the gods (or, the will of「God」as it were. See Proverbs 16:33 among many other bible verses). Long bamboo sticks with some result written upon each one are place in a container and shaken, with the one stick drawn as the answer, fortune, or whatever. This same system is still in use at Japanese shrines as a foolproof soothsaying technique, proving who are fools perhaps.
Finely polished phallic-shaped bamboo should need no explanation as a poor girl's dildo, and「bent over in lordosis posture with gonorrhea in orifice」needs no explanation as RISKY BUSINESS, TAKING A GAMBLE, ROLLING THE DICE, and in the old time religions, TEMPTING GOD and ONE'S FATE.

Always keep in mind that these glyphs most likely were originally designed by groups of clever old men as vulgar riddles for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that), representing Chinese society many thousands of years ago, but intended NOT as a written or spoken language when created. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system! Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles?
