The cuckoo female lays or moves its egg into the nest of another bird, causing the other birds to hatch the egg and raise the chick. Sounds produced by the bird when calm resemble「turr, turr」as a sort of purring or cooing. Nevertheless, the genetically-related Oriental turtle dove employs a different call altogether with four-syllables.「Buttocks bird」used to describe young, small animals that frequently gather in large clusters at temples and shrines where they spew whitish splats indiscriminately: in the case of the actual birds, feces, and in the case of service providers in the past, client emissions.
