A VENT:「orifice emphasized」with internal element of「lying prone with spread feet beside ears above one's head, extreme buttocks spread」is a perfect posture for venting FLATULENCE—so much so that more than just gas may be spontaneously expelled. And who has not「skewed, slanted to one side with emphasis on orifice within」while in a sitting position in order to PASS GAS, to FART? or「meat in a box, enclosure with emphasis」(a stinky situation, in most cases), perhaps as meat tied and hung when butchering. Clearly, a vent is intended to release some sort of rank odor, such as of dead meat kept underground but without refrigeration, or relatively live meat otherwise in a rotting or putrid condition.
　Marker stroke may emphasize the top of an「orifice」dug within a pit hole home to the surface from which the odors escaped, or, the element「enclosed」suggesting release upward from an otherwise enclosed area.
　Replacement glyph (囪) uses the internal element inside「gushing」(匆) to depict this same concept, hot air or smoke rising through a vent or chimney. However, some suggest the inner element is a variant of「net」(囪) used to cover the opening and keep out larger mosquitoes when the fire is out.

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of clever old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is! Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? And now, there is a cover-up. No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else. This site describes glyph meanings, not people. These glyphs however, describe many and various things, including people, long before there were any notions of becoming politically incorrect.
