Originally, perhaps described the POOLED FLUIDS in a groin poultice. Obviously, the Chinese given meanings of STAGNANT, stinky pool of fluids are the original concepts, contrary to fluid or water being suggested as clean, clear or pure…or, these latter given meanings refer to STILL, UNDISTURBED fluid in which the particulate matter has settled to the bottom and the upper portion appears clear. See the elements for details, but what is now cleaned, cleared, and a bit purer is the meat that discharged the stagnant pool of gleet and has now become quite still after the procedure. Furthermore, after the deaths as mentioned in 靜, the corpses tends to begin releasing various stinky stagnant fluids that pool around the relaxing sphincter muscles.

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of clever old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is! Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? And now, there is a cover-up. No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else.
