A plentiful species of white fish that inhabits the coastal waters of Japan, among other areas southward to the Philippines. The meaning suggested by scholars relates to the「mutual joy」people have in bringing this fish home for supper and eating it, rather than joy shared mutually among the anglers and the fishes (since the fishes do not survive, in most instances), however, the same might be said of catching and eating any fish, or any food at all for that matter…. This glyph is overtly suggestive of oral sexual activity but not among WHITINGS (the fish), although the behavior of these fishes has not been fully observed in modern times. Viewing an image of this fish provides the answer: the lower jaw protrudes significantly, and the entire mouth organ itself is proportionally very long and thin compared to the remainder of its body, giving it the appearance of a professional fellatrix at his or her best. The fish is relatively small, hence is normally eaten whole (head and all) in Japan, and without a doubt, the right glyph relates to the「joy of eating head」or「oyster-shaped labial flesh before mouth in stance of spurting array of emissions.」

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of bored old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is! Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? And now, there is a cover-up. No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else.
