　Improbably, scholars say this depicts a takatsuki used in Japan (and not China where the glyph originated), a pot placed upon a short, stubby, one-legged stand set beside a table for serving many people at once, that inexplicably became associated with beans. However, recall that most cultures in Asia have used rice as a food staple for thousands of years, and not beans.
