「ブジー」とは、陰茎道から尿道に挿入される細長い刃物で、尿道内の瘢痕組織を薄く削ぎ落とすのに用いられます。これにより、淋病によって形成された瘢痕組織の閉塞を取り除き、尿、精液、分泌物、血液、またはこれらすべての体液の流れを回復させます。
この意味を混同してはいけませんが、この象形文字の形は鼻にも似ています。鼻は病気の症状としてよく見られる、黄色または緑色の粘着性の糸が「ゆるんで垂れている」体の別の部分で、感覚的にも、慢性副鼻腔感染症による悪臭の別の発生源としても「匂い、悪臭」と関連しています。

　In the era prior to antibiotics, contracting a sexually transmitted disease was a virtual death sentence, or at least assurance that one's remaining life would be torture in most cases. Scarring from sexually transmitted diseases can cause both a shortened and bent penis, a SHORT LEG. Gonorrhea and other such diseases cause scar tissue to form within the urethra:

　 A「bougie」is a long, thin blade that is inserted into the urethra via the penile meatus that is used to thinly shave slices of scarred meat from within the passageway in order to remove scar tissue blockage formed due to gonorrhea and thereby restore the flow of fluids, be they urine, semen, gleet, blood, or all of the above.
　While this meaning should not be confused, shape of this glyph also resembles a nose, another body part often「loose and dripping」yellow or green sticky threads as symptoms of illness, and that is associated with「smell, stench」both for sensing and as another source of stink due to chronic sinus infections.
