「Soil chewed」as an eroding riverbank, a common cause of flooding (vast fluid discharges) in ancient China, particularly in areas where dikes were built to contain the flow. Unlikely, but as「penis chewing」the elements more clearly describe what is LIMITED, the BOUNDARY of acceptable behavior, since chewed soil will not limit a river's flow, and eating dirt has been thoroughly investigated but determined to be detrimental…yet, may be the border, boundary, limit of starvation among Old World serfs and peasants…however,「chewed penis」does not seem to relate much with the bank of a river other than the fact that fluids would not stop flowing past, perhaps. As「good soil」these elements suggest the opposite of limited, borders, boundaries and have nothing to do with riverbanks, per se, suggesting ground「chewed up」by plowing or harrowing as preparation for sowing seeds…
　Border, limits, and boundaries often relate to a line between different jurisdictions or administrative districts, zones, village sections, town quarters, all areas with a separate set of laws, rules, and regulations. Borders are normally patrolled to limit unrestricted access across the lines, with gateways and low walls if within a city, checkpoints, document verification and medical inspection stations enforcing quarantines if necessary. Borders encompass areas ranging in size from a country down to a small neighborhood.

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of clever old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is! Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? And now, there is a cover-up. No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else.
