Note that the original meanings were decidedly female in nature, and did not refer to males until much later.
Emphasis on deepest point while「plugging an orifice with loose dripping copulation, or, self-copulation」referring to the cervix (in most cases) is something the average male cannot normally accomplish using his erection unless the partner is quite small, or the penis is exceptionally long of course. Usage of this glyph as an element often pertains to a female masturbating with the aid of a pestle, horse-like penis-shaped dildo, a tool with which stimulation of the vaginal cervix is easily accomplished every time, at will: a DEMONIC desire for personal pleasure, the spirit of an old hag, an aged service provider or concubine who no longer services others (figuratively, dead meat, a dead end), and must do it to herself.
If the small「self, loose dripping」element is interpreted as an「infected short leg」then the whole glyph can also be applicable to male humans, too. With「marker above plugged orifice」(that some sources suggest morphed from 'skull' 囟) and「copulating」with「stench, putrid loose and dripping short leg」as a male DEMON, and who else but a demon would knowingly spread disease in this manner? SPIRIT OF A DEAD PERSON describes the soon-to-occur death due to the disease. Note that the top element is also part of the glyph 'depraved' (卑).

Always keep in mind that these glyphs most likely were originally designed by groups of clever old men as vulgar riddles for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that), representing Chinese society many thousands of years ago, but intended NOT as a written or spoken language when created. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system! Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is, and often with multiple correct answers to each riddle, the same as is true today. Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? But, have there been necessary rewrites and altered explanations of the original elemental meanings over the centuries?

No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else. This site describes glyph meanings, not people. These glyphs however, describe many and various things, including people, long before there were any notions of becoming politically incorrect. The question to be answered is, should these glyphs continue being used, by anyone, anywhere, for expressing language? (More...)
