Perhaps suggests that the limit, the upper「limit of beasts」is a MONKEY, APE, PRIMATE. Human beings are said to be primates, although the ancient Chinese may not have accepted that fact, nor do many religious folks still today. After reviewing Chinese glyphs, it does seem humans and bonobos do indeed share many qualities, traits, and behaviours.「Hairy animal beast plugging wetland orifice with wood」: it is significant that the glyphs meaning primate, monkey, ape, bonobo seem to use some sort of reference to royals, the capital, sex with children, wearing robes, webbed or no-longer-integrated feet, harems, and so on.「Beast with woody inside an immature orifice」needs no explanation as PRIMATE.
