[Japanese glyph] a WALL or FENCE built around some「ground」(an area) to keep out (or in) another person's or animal's「buttocks.」Perhaps a specific type of FENCING used around an outhouse or an area designated for defecation. Glyph apparently originated in Japan, and the elements appear to have been selected also for stroke shape, with the internal element looking similar to a fence with a solid area on top, commonly used in Japan to keep people from scaling a wall, either to get in or out. Barbed wire fencing is common, too, especially around one's home in Japan, an idea that originated with a guy from Ohio (not Texas) to keep herd meat asset cattle out, or in, depending upon who erects the fencing.
　Note that in Chinese, these elements would be read as「soiled buttocks, merged thrusting downward」that might have more to do with sodomy than fencing, yet the Chinese glyph for「wall」(壁) employs elements of「anal penetration soil」so perhaps the Japanese were thinking along those lines as well. If so, elements as「night soil genital spurts from two equally downward thrusting penises」would be referring to the perineum most likely, that WALL of muscle and nerve bundles between the anus and vagina.

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of bored old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is! Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? And now, there is a cover-up. No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else.
