Meanings of elements

MOVEMENT, TAKING STEPS with SHEEP BUTTOCKS

「Movement」with「sheep buttocks」that some suggest as meaning sheep are rather timid and slow to move their butts. But in fact, sheep are not very slow, or else they would easily be run down by wolves, dogs, humans, foxes, bears, and other predators, and likely may have become extinct by now, since the only true defense sheep have is to run like hell from trouble (「scared like sheep」). Sheep can easily outrun a human being. Another interpretation of these elements that mean DELAY, RETARD, DEFER, SLOW, FALL BEHIND…if the interpretation is「movement with a sheep's buttocks」or「movement with praiseworthy genitals」then the reason for the DELAY, wishing to DEFER changing the conditions, going SLOW and taking time, FALL BEHIND others since still being occupied with what one has been doing, all becomes plain. RETARD actually means「something that causes slowing」and not necessarily「mentally deficient」nor an allusion to diminished cognitive abilities. In addition,「being delayed with a sheep buttocks」may begin to explain why the ancient Chinese thought a sheep was「praiseworthy」in the first place, being the central theme of an oft-recited traditional ballad whilst the tribe was gathered around the fleshpot many evenings,「Ode to a Lonely Retarded Sheep Herdsman.」

Always keep in mind that these glyphs most likely were originally designed by groups of clever old men as vulgar riddles for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that), representing Chinese society many thousands of years ago, but intended NOT as a written or spoken language when created. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system! Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is, and often with multiple correct answers to each riddle, the same as is true today. Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? But, have there been necessary rewrites and altered explanations of the original elemental meanings over the centuries?

No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else. This site describes glyph meanings, not people. These glyphs however, describe many and various things, including people, long before there were any notions of becoming politically incorrect.
