Formerly referring to the RANK or GRADE of a human being, one's LEVEL or SCORE as「buttocks shape in comparison to everybody else」but more specifically to the「backside shape and open-mouthing skills for concubine comparison.」Quality scoring system of the shaman's merchandise, the goods, stock, quality, flirtatiousness, coquetry of a service provider that was used for billing and classifying commodity grades offered at differing rates. Alternatively,「terraces on a sloped hill in all cases」as a reference to each level, looking like the FLOORS OF A TALL BUILDING or like a huge STAIRWAY up to the heavens, the sky.

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of clever old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles?
