Does not seem to have much to do with inanimate vegetation, but more to do with many related people as a「set of the same things」or as「one's own offspring」in need of a little SUPERVISION while in a confused, hyper-animated state. It has been observed that most vegetation does not normally respond too well when GIVEN DIRECTIONS, at least, not as well as most human and other animals. Could refer to an attempt to referee at a bonobo-style family clusterfuck and offer some CORRECTION and direction, perhaps to avoid permanent injury to a few of the smaller, more helpless participants.
