Aurochs were the ancestors of domestic cattle, believed to finally have become extinct about 400 years ago:「A feature often attributed to the aurochs is blond forehead hairs. Historical descriptions tell that the aurochs had long and curly forehead hair, but none mentions a certain colour for it.」

　Aurochs were far more aggressive than remaining breeds of domesticated cattle. The eventual victor of the male battles during mating season won a harem of females all in estrus, impatiently awaiting his arrival with their reward. Females also battled one another for the right to be nearer the front of the line.
