「Circle of similar people」with「indicators displayed」and refers to PROHIBITED contact, RESTRICTIONS in place and an obvious WARNING SIGN as a result of showing INCOMPETENCE by bringing some disease or infection into the circle of members. An「added woody」with「red, incurable lesions」ought to be PROHIBITED from spreading that virus, BANNED from activities, FORBIDDEN participation due to the great risk of needlessly SPREADING THE FIRE to other wood.
　Some have suggested a much less likely possibility,「wooded grove with altar.」…or, heaping「too much wood on the altar」will cause burning red embers to fall (like crabapples), is a great danger and a sign of INCOMPETENCE, therefore such practices were PROHIBITED except when ENDURED with special dispensation for festivals, and so on, when such RESTRICTIONS were temporarily lifted. It might also be true that anyone who can construct a bonfire from an entire grove of trees possesses some exceptional skill. Perhaps more reasonable is the warning and display of incompetence if an「altar」is constructed and set alight within a「grove of trees」due to the great risk of needlessly SPREADING THE FIRE to other wood, but that practice would not likely ever be endured or have the restriction lifted for any reason.

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of clever old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is! Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? And now, there is a cover-up. No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else.
