「Sick woody and early」suggests sensing a distinctive odor before seeing someone else approaching, used to conceal more unpleasant smells. Camphor is a highly aromatic plant containing turpenoids. Camphor also acts on the human body as an agonist of the autonomic system of neurons responsible for many functions, not the least of which is sexual arousal and is one reason why it is used as an ingredient in incense: elements also are「plant for woody erections and early ejaculation.」A substance with anti-itch and cooling properties:
