Meanings of elements

The image is perhaps PALACE GUARDS escorting a princess or concubine with soft loins.「Going to dump」is a description of practices that are HEALTHY and SANITARY since the hole may then be backfilled a bit to cover the feces. These healthy practices were PROTECTIVE MEASURES, a DEFENSE that GUARDED against the spread of disease, and kept the flies at bay somewhat.
