「Medical treatments of bougie reaming」and「eyes」might refer to others not watching the proceedings, but the screams would still be heard. May refer to the need for the doctor or medical services provider to SCREEN, PROTECT BY SHADING one's eyes from the blasting, pent-up discharges of gleet while the face was near the meatus performing bougie reaming. Feathers may have provided protection from the flying sticky threads but still allowed someone to peer through and see what she or he was doing.「Sick eyes」refers to a cataract that screens sight with an opaque cornea, but is also the result if some gleet strikes the eyeball while working, a coincidence that was not lost upon the Chinese sages.
Some insist this glyph refers to fan dancing, feather dancing, striptease with boisterous clients whooping, hooting, hollering, and likely jerking off during the performance.「Unseen arrows thrusting to one side and the other side, too」with「stretched crotch skin」and「goal, place where eyes are focused, fleshpot center.」…but DIFFICULT TO SEE CLEARLY, noting that there are no feather elements in this glyph (see 翳).

Always keep in mind that these glyphs most likely were originally designed by groups of clever old men as vulgar riddles for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that), representing Chinese society many thousands of years ago, but intended NOT as a written or spoken language when created. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system! Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is, and often with multiple correct answers to each riddle, the same as is true today. Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? But, have there been necessary rewrites and altered explanations of the original elemental meanings over the centuries?

No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else. This site describes glyph meanings, not people. These glyphs however, describe many and various things, including people, long before there were any notions of becoming politically incorrect.
