The BEAN SKIN reference is to the skin of small meat, with beans as a source of protein as is meat, and to the skin surrounding the clitoris, or「small young meat as a miniature of larger meat」as a female prepuce, the clitoral sheath. Taking the skin from the bean but not the bean itself again suggests selling young females as sex slaves beans, but keeping a markup, commission, or the skin of the deal, the profit margin. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles?

But, have there been necessary rewrites and altered explanations of the original elemental meanings over the centuries?
No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else.

These glyphs however, describe many and various things, including people, long before there were any notions of becoming politically incorrect.
The question to be answered is, should these glyphs continue being used, by anyone, anywhere, for expressing language?
