　Somewhat confusing if using the literal, commonly understood meanings of these elements as「sun loving」that ought to connote contrary meanings to 靉. To make the sceptics happy, perhaps we can stretch the meanings to suggest what the glyph depicts is a condition that would「love sunshine」to dispel obscurity and darkness. Realize that a sweltering hot midday of midsummer is not so in need of more sunshine. It is the dim, cold, dark obscurity that would「love some sun.」…maybe, or is that too much of a stretch in inductive logic?
　Alternatively, other connotations are possible if in fact the left element is「tonguing mouth」and not「day, sun.」Someone assuming the physical posture or position depicted by the right element would surely not be able to「speak, say」much with「tongue in mouth」uttering only garbled, OBSCURE, VAGUE, AMBIGUOUS mumblings, since the ability to adequately exercise one's larynx in such a constrained position is obviously compromised—just plain breathing would be, too: elements are also「breathing with rod in mouth.」Fertile imaginations can run wild describing this glyph.

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of bored old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is! Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? And now, there is a cover-up. No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else.
