Natural laws purport to explain the way things are. The intention of many human-designed laws is to chase away evildoing. See 㳒 and 佱 as variants to describe rampant contagious pathogens and the need for moral correction in society (i.e., laws). Actually, the problem of sexually transmitted infections did get out-of-hand (so to speak), and a plan, system, method of using patrolled, walled areas with restricted access and inspection gateways and standards to regulate brothel traffic and disease was implemented throughout China. A「single-horned animal with a burning sensation on fire, with righteous retribution」is discussed in Chinese mythology, a fairy tale version of the painful reality of those days, and the cause for religious change away from shamanist sex peddlers to a different set of rules and laws.

Buddhists portrayed the unicorn as the bearer of the Civilizing Book of the LAW for the association with RELIGION and DOCTRINE. Unicorn elements have vanished from the modern glyph and all that remains is「fluid flowing with anal stench, putrid rot」that sounds a bit like another famous expert of RELIGIOUS LAW who became the namesake of gerrids (really, not a joke)…someone able to walk on water and a being above fluid flows of his own, supposedly. Law brings ORDER to a society, and dictates METHODS, PROCESSES for living within the SYSTEM of LAW. Perhaps the sages were suggesting that only a fool would have been ridiculous enough to hold a belief in the idea of a supernatural being (such as a unicorn) appearing on Earth and telling humans how to live by passing along a religion and its laws while walking on water as does a gerrid or a veliid, or, were ridiculing dogmatic and hypocritical attempts to legislate human morality. After all, the sages had no respect for organized religions or their human figureheads.
