「Congealing, dripping」with「soil caverns」that describes a GRAVE, or SOLEMN state of affairs for the liege lord, as might「emphasis on dripping and under pressure」to describe a blocked urethra due to an ongoing infection. Variant of「the lord's assets」「country villa, village」(莊). Suggests a livestock or farm animal disease that can be spread simply by walking around with soil sticking to feet and transferring the pathogens, such as modern outbreaks of foot-and-mouth, influenza, and so on. Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of bored old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles?
