Glyph elements  [ Toggle Font ]

Meanings of elements
THE HEAD OF AN ANIMAL OR PERSON and QUICKIE, FAST
…or: LOITERING, AIMLESS DAWDLING, STANDING IDLE, PURPOSELESS MOTION and IN SEASON, RIPE AND GOOD COLOR, ESTRUS, IN HEAT OVULATION
「Loitering for/in heat ovulation」as waiting around for the booty parade TO EXPOSE PUBLICLY, display, show from the shaman's shrine or temple of hot candidates, and then following after them indicating the one desired TO COMPLY WITH. GIVING IN TO one's「head with quickie」is dying for a good cause, it may seem at the time. Refers to the genital 'vulva eye that winks' when the female of some species is in estrus, horses especially, signaling the desire and readiness to immediately copulate unabashedly by winking her vulva, complete with juicy puckering sounds (believe it, or not). It is the duty of any nearby male of the same or similar species to accommodate her desire, even unto martyrdom. Many insects live in adult form only to mate and then die, i.e., DYING FOR A CAUSE.
「Winking the vulva is one of the signs a mare is in heat. Frequent urination, tail raising, squatting, and fence or wall pushing are also signs the mare is in heat. I have had mares that seemed uncomfortable being [ridden] and even acted colicky when in heat. You can have your vet [verify] to be sure this is what is going on. Mares vary a great deal in their behavior when in estrus (heat) from no signs at all to very pronounced signs. I hope this answers your question satisfactorily. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.」

Public displays of estrus with ovulation and willingness to copulate unabashedly as HERALDING AN ANNOUNCEMENT to all with ears to hear, among other appendages. Prancing about and loitering with one's vulva swollen, reddened, and exuding pheromone-laden fluids in order to entice males to battle one another for the chance to copulate with that meat:「one that gives a sign or indication of something to come. An official who formerly made proclamations and conveyed challenges at a tournament. To proclaim, especially with enthusiasm, announce or acclaim」 [ https://www.thefreedictionary.com/herald 2018-02-28 ]

Modern definitions (that generally disregard history) …excluding politically incorrect concepts and other meanings deemed offensive today; may list only pigeonholed definitions, euphemisms, or meaningless mnemonics)
Chinese: to follow; to give in to; to expose publicly; variant of 侚; variant of 殉
Unihan extended: comply with, follow; display
EDRDG: herald; announce; follow; obey; seek; lay down one's life

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of clever old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is! Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? And now, there is a cover-up. No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else. This site describes glyph meanings, not people. These glyphs however, describe many and various things, including people, long before there were any notions of becoming politically incorrect. The question to be answered is, should these glyphs continue being used, by anyone, anywhere, for expressing language? (More...) Despite how bad the human world is today, do you actually believe that the so-called good old days were any better? Or they could only have been worse?

By the way, with a limited number of the same elements used by the sages again and again to form these glyphs, you should expect to find the same explanations again and again, as tedious as that may become, and as an inherent trait of any dictionary. This site explains the dual meanings of glyphs most often ignored by other sources that provide you with only the sanctioned definition, generally.
