A CRUPPER is a strap that connects the rear of a saddle with a loop that surrounds the horse's tail, used for the purpose of preventing the saddle from sliding forward. Stated another way, it is a bonding strap that prevents something mounted from moving into an undesired position. The CRUPPER ends in a loop that is placed over the tail and then drawn up to the buttocks with the other end affixed to the saddle. GENITAL HARNESS used to hold a medical poultice in place (see 治).
　Concept of a「window」may obliquely be a reference to the loop in the strap, but more likely in ancient China referred to an exhibition of bondage sex before an audience. Bondage sex can become unusually intense due to having no means of movement by applying straps, such as cruppers, that prevent something mounted from moving into an undesired position by binding the「tail」portion and other limbs. Then again, perhaps the loop area of the crupper was perceived as a window to the anus.
