個ーの構成要素は「V字型の脚の開口部から排泄する人物」を描写しており、下品、低級、一般的、慣習的、一般的なものを意味し、おそらく無差別に放屁する人、またはいつでもどこでも尿意を感じたら排尿する男性を指していると考えられます。
右側の構成要素「谷」は田舎、孤立、出入りが困難な場所を表しており、深い山ーに囲まれた「谷間に住む人ー」は文字通り長い間社会から隔離されており、後進的、下品、野暮ったく慣習的、庶民、ヒルビリー（米国では、アパラチア山脈の住民は奇妙な理由で皆「ビリー」と呼ばれている）などとみなされ、大都市に住んでいなかったため嘲笑の対象となっていた。
昔、あの山奥の田舎では、唯一のニュース源は噂話という形で人から人へと伝えられていました。この象形文字の構成要素は、「人」と「（別の）人の口から発せられた」と簡単に読むことができ、下品で下品でよくある習慣的な悪徳としての噂話に言及しています。おそらくこの象形文字は、噂話を、無差別に放屁したり、他人の評判に小便をしたりすることと微妙に同一視しているのでしょうか。

Individual elements depict a「person emitting from V-shaped legs orifice」and means VULGAR, LOW CLASS, COMMON, and what is CUSTOMARY and POPULAR naturally, perhaps referring to anyone who farts indiscriminately, or a male who urinates whenever the urge strikes, anywhere, anytime.
　Right element as「valley」depicts rural, isolated, difficult to travel in or out and「people living in valleys」within the deep mountains were literally cut off from the rest of society for long periods, and considered backward, LOW CLASS, VULGAR, unstylish and CUSTOMARY, COMMON FOLK, hillbillies (in the U.S., Appalachian hill folk all named「Billie」for some odd reason), and so on, ridiculed since these folk were not living in the Big City.
　Formerly, in rural settings way back in them thar hills, the only source of news was transmitted from person-to-person in the form of GOSSIP. Elements in this glyph could easily be read as「person」with「emitted from (another) person's mouth」in reference to gossip as a vulgar, low-class, and common but customary vice. Perhaps the glyph is subtly equating gossiping with indiscriminately passing flatulence, or pissing on another's reputation?

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of bored old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is! Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? And now, there is a cover-up. No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else.
