　Left element of「ripe grain plants bowed over」with「necessary, inevitable」meaning CONCEAL, SECRET, KEEP HIDDEN may perhaps refer to the fact that, while the feudal lord owned all the land and the serfs with it for that matter, so that the crops raised were also the lord's property, no self-respecting farmer would be stupid enough to actually reveal the true count of bushels harvested, and when possible kept the minimum amount of grain necessary to prevent starvation hidden and concealed from the lord, obviously upon pain of death if discovered…but a beheading with the wheel of a chariot, or hanged from a tree limb by the hairs of your own head and then being decapitated was a better fate than slow, painful starvation, to be sure.
　Alternatively, left element as a「drooping and dripping woody, gonorrhea」that cannot possibly stand erect, with the right element depicting a「necessary, inevitable」surgical procedure: penectomies were performed to staunch one way or another the spread of sexually transmissible diseases. Both the left and right elements depict a condition that most males would thereafter CONCEAL, be kept SECRET and HIDDEN. Older glyph used「display」「altar, religion」as the left element (祕), perhaps depicting the same sort of secrets of religious men that were to be kept hidden as otherwise their credibility might be undermined a bit, or, that one's meat had now been sacrificed for past and fleeting pleasures, but eventually the stench will tell the tale.

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of bored old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles?
