Glyph elements  [ Toggle Font ]

Meanings of elements
CHEWED UP, MASTICATED, BITE AND SEIZE BETWEEN TEETH with SHORT ROD, INDICATES EXTENT, or, CURLED PENIS and HEAD, or, PERSON SITTING WITH NO-LONGER-INTEGRATED FEET, DEVICE FOR GATHERING OR COLLECTING FLUIDS FOR A BRIEF TIME, SEXUAL SERVICES PROVIDER with HEAD WITH FACE DOWNWARD, COGITATE
…or: SITTING PERSON with ARRAY of SELF EMISSIONS
「Service provider or concubine as a person who needs to be sitting most of the time」with「head and face downward」a concubine with her feet in action, again, may have been another reason to be sitting with her head hanging down while the client is LEANING TO ONE SIDE using that foot for A LITTLE WHILE before leaning to the other side for the other foot.
「Raised leg with array of penis and cogitating」as AN APPROXIMATION of what the real thing might feel like while in the artificial vagina formed by the deep skin fold of the no-longer-integrated and squished foot.
Someone who needs to rest for A LITTLE WHILE due to being wounded, unconscious, too old to stand, someone punched, drugged, vomiting, or stabbed, etc., will normally LEAN TO ONE SIDE as if they have fallen or sat down just a LITTLE WHILE AGO (over a longer period, if conditions worsen, the person falls completely over, lies prone passed out, or dies). The「head leaning」position extends nicely to LISTENING INTENTLY (whudhesay?), BEING IN DOUBT, taking a guess or APPROXIMATE, and the all-important REVEALING THE NAPE OF ONE'S NECK, presumably a surefire sexual stimulant in China during the good old days, especially when combined with the ultra-erotic stench of bacteria colonies mixed with coagulated semen, gleet, and smegma in the skin folds of bound and no-longer-integrated feet.「Cogitating over bent penis and head」as LEANING TO ONE SIDE due to the buildup of internal scar tissue within the urethra, BEING IN DOUBT, taking a guess or APPROXIMATION of one's remaining season while alive.
Reference to a specific land area in dynastic China is obscure: who knows?

Modern definitions (that generally disregard history) …excluding politically incorrect concepts and other meanings deemed offensive today; may list only pigeonholed definitions, euphemisms, or meaningless mnemonics)
Chinese: unit of area equal to 100 畝|亩 or 6.67 hectares; a short while; a little while ago; circa. (for approximate dates); variant of 傾|倾
Japanese: qing, time, around, about, toward, suitable time, time of year, season, period, days
Unihan extended: a moment; a measure of area equal to 100 mu or 6.7 hectares; to lean
EDRDG: time; about; toward

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of clever old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is! Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? And now, there is a cover-up. No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else. This site describes glyph meanings, not people. These glyphs however, describe many and various things, including people, long before there were any notions of becoming politically incorrect. The question to be answered is, should these glyphs continue being used, by anyone, anywhere, for expressing language? (More...) Despite how bad the human world is today, do you actually believe that the so-called good old days were any better? Or they could only have been worse?

By the way, with a limited number of the same elements used by the sages again and again to form these glyphs, you should expect to find the same explanations again and again, as tedious as that may become, and as an inherent trait of any dictionary. This site explains the dual meanings of glyphs most often ignored by other sources that provide you with only the sanctioned definition, generally.
