「Stream of emissions from erection plum」(that's the part on the end that resembles a plum) needs no explanation, most likely, as one means of obtaining forgiveness by generating that stream.
　While some scholars feel these elements together (「red and head whacking, or, rod again and again with head of rod whacking, stroking」) suggest foregoing a beating, it seems that the PARDON, FORGIVENESS comes after the beating has begun and perhaps anger subsides for some reason, such as the death of the victim (「grave, tomb, plum pulp with stream of emissions」).「Red」is associated with rage, beaten skin, and blood. Modern usage indicates the punishment has begun but not fully administered, maybe from the idea that blood was drawn while beating the person, so that the beating stopped abruptly and then a PARDON, FORGIVENESS, AMNESTY followed. Then again, a PARDON or FORGIVENESS might only be extended after the subject has been「beaten and whacked until a bloody red pulp of unmoving but still living flesh」having received full punishment…many species of plums contain BLOOD-RED PULP and plenty of juice, appearing very similar to human flesh that has been split open by a rod strike.
