BAMBOO EXTRACTION

「Pulled, squeezed, or extracted from bamboo」might suggest sounds from PIPES and WHISTLES, but not without a fairly large leap of logic. Yet, as「plugged orifice extraction with bamboo」describing long thin pieces of bamboo for extraction from pipes used consecutively in medical treatments for successively enlarging the urethra while enabling pent-up fluids to discharge seems to make more sense:
　「Infection of the urethra…for example: Sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhoea or chlamydia. …What is the treatment for urethral stricture?…Dilatation (widening) of the stricture: This is usually done by passing a thin plastic rod (bougie) into the urethra. This procedure may be done either under a local or a general anaesthetic. Rods of increasing thickness are gently inserted to gradually widen (dilate) the narrowed stricture. The aim is to stretch and widen the stricture without causing additional scarring. However, a stricture often tends gradually to narrow again after each dilation. Therefore, a repeat dilation is commonly needed every so often when symptoms recur.」
