The English word CONFUSE literally means to fuse or conjoin different things together that should not normally be so joined. A「body」that has been「severed with emissions」is likely to also have been wrapped with a medical dressing on the wound. Without proper care and periodic changing of the medical batting and gauze as it heals, the flesh will literally begin to grow around the PUTRID dressing.「Cleanly dividing, distinguishing good from bad with a body」describes severing portions of gangrenous tissue, among any other bodily parts unwanted for various reasons, such as a fetus. Something「separated from one's personal body」was a reference to one's SON, somewhat similar to a 'chip of/off the old block' in English…the original Greek analogy was to wood, that is, a piece from a chunk of wood (that is, the penis of the father) and not some other material.

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of clever old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is! Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? And now, there is a cover-up. No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else.
