Glyph elements  [ Toggle Font ]

Meanings of elements
THROBBING, PULSATING, REPEATED SERIES OF SWELLING AND SHRINKING, TURGID AND FLACCID, SOMETHING COVERING A HEAD with TAKE CONTROL, SEIZE, OBTAIN, TO GET SOME, AN ACTIVE PARTNER, BUTTER UP, ENCLOSE IN A CIRCLE, FRESHLY HARVEST
「Pulsating, throbbing within spread legs」(see traditional fonts for the correct elements: not「sun」formerly, although some fonts use「tonguing mouth」in this position) with「seize control, grabbing someone by the ears while their head is in your crotch」meaning the MOST, UTMOST, SUPERLATIVE.「Seize control of a pulsating, throbbing crotch」as the utmost pleasure of the moment, something for which the dire need is apparent because of the throbbing, pulsating theme or that of a skillful, tonguing mouth. Perhaps suggesting carpe diem to live today and every day to the UTMOST. Note that the sages often lampooned the military (and women, Buddhists, royalty, peddlers and merchants, serfs, etc.). Top element of「throbbing」also is used in the glyphs 'lord's crown' and 'head covering of a soldier.'「Ear」resembles the shape of a vertical flag attached to a pole on a person's backside (「crotch」) used in China and Japan to identify soldiers as belonging to one side or the other of a battle, meaning to seize those flags as a sign of who is in control of the troops, or the battle…so,「seizing control of the crotch flags and the other lord's crown」would mean taking control of an army, perhaps the enemy lord's, as the MOST, UTMOST, SUPERLATIVE action possible.

Modern definitions (that generally disregard history) …excluding politically incorrect concepts and other meanings deemed offensive today; may list only pigeonholed definitions, euphemisms, or meaningless mnemonics)
Chinese: most; the most; -est (superlative suffix)
Japanese: the most, the extreme, prime, conspicuous, extremely
Unihan extended: most, extremely, exceedingly
EDRDG: utmost; most; extreme

Used within names (nanori)

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of clever old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is! Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? And now, there is a cover-up. No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else. This site describes glyph meanings, not people. These glyphs however, describe many and various things, including people, long before there were any notions of becoming politically incorrect. The question to be answered is, should these glyphs continue being used, by anyone, anywhere, for expressing language? (More...) Despite how bad the human world is today, do you actually believe that the so-called good old days were any better? Or they could only have been worse?

By the way, with a limited number of the same elements used by the sages again and again to form these glyphs, you should expect to find the same explanations again and again, as tedious as that may become, and as an inherent trait of any dictionary. This site explains the dual meanings of glyphs most often ignored by other sources that provide you with only the sanctioned definition, generally.
