Honeybees must have HONEY to survive, particularly in winter, and so it is「necessary under roof (the hive, home) of insect.」Honeybees need a protected hive in order to make honey, so this glyph perhaps may be read as「roofed home, deliberately out-of-reach is necessary for this insect」and then bees can produce HONEY from NECTAR. This honey must be kept SECRET and guarded by the bees if at all possible by camouflaging or concealing the hive, since if a bear, human or other animal finds and takes all the honey from a hive, that hive's bees will soon starve as a result. For that reason, early honey gatherers soon learned never to remove all the honey from any single hive, keeping some「deliberately out-of-reach」for the bees to survive. In Chinese, this glyph refers to the supposedly SECRET sex partner of a married man, his HONEY, who from a wife's perspective is「deliberately kept out-of-reach」and like an「insect, viper invariably in the home」but if his HONEY (or honeypot) were denied, he may starve for sex as a result. Favored HONEYPOTS of a brothel or cave o' wonders, bursting with nectar honeydew, causing「sexually transmitted diseases」to appear「at home, emphasis on surrounding」a「stinking loose dripping rod orifice.」

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of bored old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is! Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? And now, there is a cover-up. No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else.
