「Threads」and「spread stance with unseen, death」as FISHNETS, especially trawling fishnets, normally are made from thin ropes as netting (「threads」) and have thick ropes tied to the periphery for hauling them in.「Unseen, death」meaning a net used for trapping and sometimes killing, such as a gillnet or in a「dragnet」and to emphasize that a net functions most effectively when it remains「unseen」by the intended prey…this sort of explanation reminds one of fishnet stockings.

　Nevertheless, while it would seem that the sages were clairvoyant, actually the glyph elements are for a slightly different reason: formerly「ejaculations in net of death unseen」and referring to a FISHNET other than the content of a woman's stockings perhaps, due to it being one cause that triggers male fish ejaculations. A fishnet naturally causes many fish to be drawn into close proximity to one another, particularly as the net closes. The triggering mechanism for male fish ejaculation, unlike most human males but similar to many human male passengers with a preference for using a crowded train system, is the proximity to the eggs of a female, any female—she may have even already departed (as in「no basis for ejaculation」), but if her pheromones linger,…pishshsheeeeew!. Close proximity, even for a few moments, causes male fish to blast their wad into the surrounding waters. At least, netted male fish die with a smile, if not with their boots on.
