Kettle on legs, legs on a kettle: a heavy cauldron with a person's legs bound to it. A「headstall」is the portion of a horse's bridle (used to control the animal) that encases its head from all directions. Elements are suggestive of someone「held unable to move with cauldron」after being tied and bound to an inverted kettle in an appropriate pose with the person's hands and raised, spread feet secured to two of the heavy cauldron legs, and the head and neck bound loosely to the third leg.「Headstall, a head stall, a stall for head, stalled head」in this case takes on new meanings of various sorts, particularly when applied in dream fulfillment therapy of a group of members (see 夢 and 員) as was the case in dynastic China.

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of bored old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is! Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? And now, there is a cover-up. No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else.
