「Emerging shafts」with「mourning」「the head」to indicate a SEQUENCE or DEGREE of progression suggests a tertiary case of the pox, as might an「array of students, younger brothers」(a「student」is someone eager to study, and「study」is the aggressive use of one's stud「to push, stick in, knock on, to beat」).「Malodorous, stench」with a poultice of「stinky herbs」「vertical」with「the head」indicates a SEQUENCE or DEGREE of progression of that same disease.「Emerging shafts」「condolences」with「head dammed」to indicate a SEQUENCE and the DEGREE of progression in a FIXED ORDER. First, remove the foot-binding cloths (𥫤) and hang them on a nearby rack. Second,「erection or head of stiff rod in vertical reciprocal motions」and a「set of readied no-longer-integrated feet.」Third,「head becomes dammed」with scar tissue and plaque after the onset of disease, and mourning begins knowing a painful death is certain. Note a very similar glyph that does not merge the「erection」and「rod in motion」elements (笰) refers to a tool used to clean out the stinky slits in the feet after the client has done his business (the third step for her, not the client), by scraping out the schmutz but in no way providing any antibacterial cleansing or protection, hence the transfer of pathogens from one client to the next would have been likely as the fourth step in the sequence. As long as the service provider had no open wounds on her feet, and was careful with the cleaning tool, she may not have been infected at that time.
　Nevertheless,「multiple emerging shafts」with「the head in vertical motion」with「set of readied no-longer-integrated feet」also suggests that there is an ORDER, or a SEQUENCE to follow in being granted access, perhaps based upon seniority or some other arbitrary DEGREE of some trait, with some group of disciples or family members and younger brothers (弟)「in a subordinate position」to others, being forced to wait their turn in order to access the service provider in PROPER SEQUENCE (doesn't seem to have much to do with plants, other than when used as a poultice).

Always keep in mind that these glyphs were originally created by groups of clever old men as vulgar riddles and analogies for their own entertainment (see 籒 for that) and represented Chinese society many thousands of years ago, and not as a written or spoken language. If these glyphs had been intended for language use, the sages could not have possibly designed a worse system. Is it truly possible that all these glyphs started out as off-color jokes and puzzles? Yes! It is! Sex had no shame in ancient China. Why would it? And now, there is a cover-up. No one is suggesting these glyphs depict contemporary life in China, Japan, or anywhere else. This site describes glyph meanings, not people. These glyphs however, describe many and various things, including people, long before there were any notions of becoming politically incorrect.
