　Some suggest elements as「flow」from「laughing cannabis herbs」referring to a「superfluous amount」of smoke「trapped within a pit hole」(蒸) to INTENSIFY it, describing a sort of purple haze that formed a DEEP, THICK atmosphere of PROFOUND INTENSITY. Related glyph indicates the original elements of「within roofed pit cavity is cannabis」(穼) to depict someone not up for a road trip in the near term. Within the caverns, and inside pit hole homes prior to the invention of window vents, the atmosphere whilst stoking herb fires would necessarily become filled with DEEP and THICK smoke, creating a PROFOUND and INTENSE experience (燥).
　Scholars explain this as water surrounding not walking legs up a tree, which refers to someone attempting to escape from some occasional heavy flooding (…?).
