Unlikely, but perhaps「fish hardened, enclosed old」as a fish that becomes hardened after some time of neglect, yet more likely is the scenario in which that same fish becomes looser, softer, slimier, and stinkier as the bacteria feed seems more in line with reality, hence the right element may be referring more to specific fish guts and not all the innards pell-mell, that is, the odor, color, texture and taste of clotted, coagulated fluids expressed from a prostate gland: sac of seminal fluids within a male fish's gut cavity, eaten as a delicacy in Asia and as a fine source of testosterone supplement by both men and women (白子「opened tonguing mouth conspicuously white」with「array of ejaculations, spermatozoa」).
